Accademia Italiana/ Evermending Workshop & Talk

Mending for Good collaborated with the Italian University of Fashion and Art, to design and organize a three-day workshop for their 3rd year fashion design students, at their site in Florence during the week of Pitti Uomo. The workshop culminated in an exhibition of the students’ works and a talk moderated by Journalist Matteo Minà.

  • Artistic Direction: we conceived the creative concept of the three-day learning workshop.
  • Organization: we selected artisans to conduct the technical workshop. We began with an inspirational talk and provided materials for students to work with various techniques (embroidery, hand painting, tailoring).
  • Execution: we supervised and managed the three-day workshop with the students within the Accademia.
  • Exhibition Set-up: we coordinated the set-up of the students’ final exhibition.
  • Final Talk: in coordination with Accademia Italiana and other stakeholders we talked about the challenge and opportunities of upcycling.

Our shared mission is to educate the younger generation in a new approach to fashion, rediscovering artisan techniques and promoting garment care to last longer and to be loved till the end.
